What I Learned In School Today: Not all aspects of this job are fun, but some are extremely important.

This afternoon I took part in a live webinar focused on bomb threats and how they should be properly handled. There are many fantastic digital learning opportunities designed to inspire and excite, but given the topic, this certainly didn’t fall into that category, but it doesn’t make it any less important.

Staying up to date on best practices for school safety is a requirement for any administrator in our society. I always considered myself an easy going person, but that changed when I became responsible for about 850 students and staff every day. Not all aspects of this job are fun, but some are extremely important.
