What I Learned In School Today: What’s the best way of communicating with parents?
What’s the best way of communicating with parents? How much communication is too much? Is it possible to over communicate?
At Concord Elementary School we send weekly emails to all community members with updates on things going on around the school. These messages are long (often too long) but informative. We also send shorter more specific messages as needed. We regularly update our website, post on Twitter, and share events on Facebook. We also use Remind to make announcements via text messages. Parents receive report cards, attend parent-teacher conferences, and frequently get flyers and notes through their son or daughter’s backpack.
Is this enough? Is this too much? What does communication look like in other schools?
