What I Learned In School Today: Kindergarteners really need us.

As I meet the new incoming kindergarteners each fall, the same thought always comes to mind: I can’t believe how small they are at the start of the school year!

Many of our kindergarteners are only five years old. As we start the school year, it’s important to remember and acknowledge the impact we have on these kids and how much the physically, mentally, academically, socially, and emotionally grow. It’s a huge responsibility, but the impact we have on these students is why what we do is worth doing.

How do other schools handle the beginning of the school year and support kindergarten students and parents?
